Dream location to live- I love living in New Jersey, I am a very seasonal person and I love that we have all 4 seasons, we are close to the city and to the beach, so there is always a lot to do. My family is also here, and I am very close with them.
Favorite music- I love listening to the Beatles, upbeat, inspirational and there are so many great songs by them
How I got started in the industry- I went to hair school in 2010 and I wasn't really sure what to expect. I fell in love with the industry and decided it was something I wanted to pursue. After a few salons and debating on whether or not this was the industry for me, Franco's barber shop was hiring and I decided to apply. I got the job, learned how to barber and found a love for specializing in solely barbering!
Q: Who / what inspires you? A: I take a lot of design inspiration from architecture. Especially in a city. You can see the juxtaposition between something very ornate and hundreds of years old right up against something current, that is stark and minimal.
Q: Favorite music? A: Depends on mood, but these are the last 6 artists that played on my Spotify list: Bad Brains, Stone Roses, Joy Divison, Radiohead, Ghostface Killah, & Nick Drake
Q: How would you describe your style? A: Every day I get dressed starting with a different pair of shoes. I'd say a mix up of classic American workwear, Euro minimalism, and Japanese streetwear. Little bit hip hop, little bit rock n roll...
What inspires me? My inspiration comes from my own competitiveness to be the best. It drives me every day to be the best version of myself I can possibly be.
Favorite music? I love all types of music. It ranges from old school hip-hop to classical music. I never want to limit myself to just one type of style. Every type of music has a diverse aspect of it that I think I can enjoy.
Dream place to live? I've always wanted to live in Manhattan. It's been my dream since the first time I went when I was 9.
Describe your style: I appreciate classic and timeless styles. I love simplicity and elegance. There is something about jeans and a white t-shirt, a perfectly fitted suit, and the beauty of that little black dress. Even with the numerous tattoos, I would like to believe I am quintessentially a gentleman.
How did you get started in the industry? I came to this industry late in life. After many years and much money spent on my education I found myself in a safe and stable career but decided that "a ship in harbor is safe...and that isn't what they are built for" and took the leap. I am loving this era of redefinition and discovery.
After two tours in the Pacific theatre, during WWII, my grandfather returned home to become a small-town barber for over 50 years. Many personal and serendipitous life events culminated in my selection of this artistic and customer-service driven noble profession.
Who/what inspires you? I am inspired by people who are learners and push themselves to go that distance from good to great. I am inspired to loyalty by people who are both kind and supportive while simultaneously being brave enough to tell you where you need improvement. I am inspired by the sound of the clippers, the warmth of the lather, the fragrance of aftershave and overall by the masculine romance and allure of a traditional barber shop like that which is embodied here at Franco's.
Who/what inspires you? I'm a third Generation Barber. I think it's so cool that 90 years after my grandfather started in the industry that I can still make a great living doing something I'm passionate about.
Favorite Music? Frank Sinatra, Reggae- I like to relax.
Dream Location to live? New Jersey of course, or the Amalfi Coast
